CONFIRMED: Amidaus appoint Baba Ali as head coach
Ghana Premier League side Amidaus Professionals have appointed Baba Ali as new head coach of the club following the departure of Tony Lokko, AllSportsGhana has confirmed.
The head coach position of the Tema-based club became vacant after coach Lokko who qualified the side into the 2012/13 Premier League last season left the side to sign a two-year renewable deal with former league champions Berekum Champions.
“We have settled on Baba Ali from Fetteh Feyenoord to take over as our new head coach. He has asked to keep issues of his contract in private and would assume duty soon,” the club’s spokesperson Salifu Sule shortly confirmed to AllSportsGhana.
Meanwhile Coach Baba Ali who has previously coached St Mirren, Sports Net and Feyenoord Academy, where he stayed for 12 years says he is ready for his new challenge.
“Coaching a premier league club is a big opportunity to showcase what I’ve got in the coaching job. It’s a big chance for me and I’m ready for the challenge. Now that I take the team I aim to at least maintain the standards set by my predecessor by trying to better our placing in the league,” new Amidaus coach Baba Ali said.
Amidaus Professionals made their league debut in the 2012/13 season and finished 11th on the league log.
