The launch which took place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra early today, featured a host of high ranking members in Ghana football, as well as partners and sponsors of the GFA.
The GFA, in its bid to bridge the gap between the organization and the general public have decided to launch the 30-minute programme, which will be aired from the 31st of August on a local television station.
The show will bring all the latest happenings concerning the national teams, GLO Premier League, MTN FA Cup, grassroots football, as well as female football leagues in Ghana. There will also be exclusive interviews and behind the scenes footage of the various national teams.
In attendance were the GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, as well as the coach of the senior national team the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah. Mr. Nyantakyi officially launched the TV programme.
He said: “From afar you might think we are launching a television network, but we are actually looking to partner with television stations. Our existence is to compliment the good work that the current television stations are doing.”
“We have decided to create our own TV programme to give us the opportunity to tell our story, our own way and to allow the general public to view first hand, some of the projects we are working on.”
“Above all it is going to be a platform to showcase what our sponsors are doing. I hope GFA TV will become a veritable platform to attract more sponsors for the Football Association to ensure that we do not need to run to the government for funds anytime there need be.”
