Berekum Chelsea form “a bit embarrassing”

FC Berekum (Berekum Chelsea) head coach Anthony Lokko says it will take time for his team to hit the ground running properly this season.

The Blues lost 1-0 to Hearts of Oak in Accra on Sunday via a 47th minute Gilbert Fiamenyo header, a result that leaves them with just five points from a possible 18.

“I’m not a happy man with this result,” he said at the post match press conference.

“We played our heart out and tactically we were very disciplined as to what we wanted to do but you expect something, and it doesn’t turn out that way so I guess there’s very little I can say further.”

The Brong-Ahafo based side, who were runners-up last season, are without a win in their last five matches, and have conceded six goals in three away matches this season.

“It’s a bit embarrassing,” he said. “But I think technically we are still on course. We are playing good football. We are working around the clock to make sure we get there. There are certain things we are still working on but soon, the definitely you will see the Berekum Chelsea that you know.”

Now lying 12th on the league table, Berekum Chelsea will welcome New Edubiase United to the Berekum Golden City Park next weekend.
