GPL: Kotoko 2-1 Hasaacas
Asante Kotoko have opened the gap at the summit of the Ghana Premier League by three clear points after defeating Hasaacas 2-1 on Thursday.
The win at the Baba Yara Stadium makes it six out of six for Didi Dramani's Porcupine Warriors, handing them a perfect start.
Michael Akuffu scored a first half goal to give the reigning league champions a 1-nil lead before the break.
After recess, Kotoko doubled their lead through Richard Mpong as the champions looked to put the game beyond the visitors.
But Frederick Quayeson pulled one back for the Hasmal Boys but they feel short of the needed lift to tie the game.
The defeat means Hasaacas' winless run continues as their return to the top-flight has not been smooth sailing as many would have expected.
They now sit 15th on the 16-Club log going into match-day-7.
For Kotoko, who are enjoying one of their best starts ever, they will attempt to extend their winning run when they travel to Bechem over the weekend.
