Despite the fact that Juan Mata appears to have won over Jose Mourinho, and is gradually working himself back into the reckoning, PSG are apparently set to swoop on the unsettled Spaniad, according to Goal.com
‘Sources’ have confirmed to Goal that the Ligue 1 club tried to sign Mata in the summer and are now preparing to return with a bumper bid in the new year, in the region of €41 million.
Though Mata is ‘officially’ happy in London and has publicly vowed to fight for his place, Goal believe PSG may have a chance of pulling the move off. Because behind the scenes, they claim, Mata is strongly considering his future, especially with no sign of a new deal to improve on his €82,000-a-week contract which runs until 2016
