Borussia Dortmund are reportedly fearful that Arsenal’s interest in in-form attacker Marco Reus could lead to the Bundesliga side losing the impressive German international.
Bild claim that the Westfalenstadion side are concerned that an offer of €35m (£30m) will not only trigger Reus’s release clause but may also lead to the former Borussia Monchengladbach man being tempted by the possibility of a move to join the North London club.
Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp will fight hard to keep hold of the former Borussia Monchengladbach man having previously seen Shinji Kagawa and Mario Gotze opt to leave the club and with Robert Lewandowski likely to do likewise this summer when his current contract comes to an end.
Reus racked up 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last term and has already scored nine goals thus far this season.
The opportunity to join the Premier League table toppers may prove all the more interesting to Reus if Arsenal are still flying high at the top of the table when the transfer window re-opens in January and the chance to join national team colleagues Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski may also prove a motivating factor
