Ghana winger David “Titi” Accam was once again on target for Helsingborgs IF in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Monday night.
Accam scored the first of his side’s three goals in a 4-3 loss to Mjällby AIF away at the Strandvallen.
The 22-year-old has been in stunning form this season, the goal being
his 9th league goal in 19 games this season alone. In addition to this,
the winger has scored two goals in five Swedish Cup league games,
placing his season’s tally at 11 goals in 24 games.
Accam received a national call-up ahead of Ghana’s World Cup Qualifier against Sudan in March, but failed to come of the bench to
earn a first cap.
After having grabbed Swedish headlines by winning numerous
man-of-the-match awards amidst his goals from the wings this season,
Accam has raised his hopes of being considered for another call-up ahead
of Ghana’s crunch qualifier against Zambia in September.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate is currently joint third on the
Swedish top scorer’s chart, three goals off Dutch man Moestafa El Kabir.
He scored 11 goals in 15 appearances for Östersunds FK in the Swedish second tier last season.
