One of the biggest rivalries in British sport resumes on Sunday when Liverpool face Manchester United at Anfield.
Although the hosts may be pulling away in terms of trophies won, their encounters are usually feisty and sparks often fly.So, from Jonjo Shelvey losing his rag last season to the Suarez-Evra controversy, dust-ups between Neville and Carragher and beyond, here's what happens when the red mist descends in the North West...

goals like this, right in front of them
Fanning the flames: And those supporters reacted to him like this!
Over the top: Jamie Carragher's foul on Nani sparked this melee (below) in 2011

ribbed by the Anfield crowd about his weight in 2005 so reacted like
this when he scored

England colleagues: But Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney forget all about that when Manchester United and Liverpool clash

United's goalmouth with pennies while Nobby Stiles was receiving
treatment
Age is no barrier: United fansset off a smoke
bomb during the Premier League Academy match against Liverpool at
Langtree Park earlier this year
But there are more important things than football
