“It's Nearly Impossible To Qualify For The World Cup” - Bob Bradley

Egypt coach Bob Bradley says his sides’ dream of making it to their first World Cup in 23 years is now “nearly impossible” after suffering a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Ghana in the first leg of the play-off towards Brazil 2014.

Goals from Asamoah Gyan(twice), Majeed Waris, Sulley Muntari, Christian Atsu and a Wael Gomaa own goal condemned Egypt to their first defeat of the qualifiers after commanding an enviable 100% record across six group games in the second round of qualifying.

“The dream of going to the World Cup is what kept out team united for these two years. But today, we’ve seen that dream become nearly impossible,” a solemn Bradley conceded at the post match press conference.

“Ghana is a proud footballing nation. Today the players and fans’ talent and emotion all came through for them and they can be proud.

“I say nearly impossible because the situation we’ve put ourselves in is a very difficult one. We know this We feel this,” he added.
