San Lorenzo winger Angel Correa is a transfer target for Arsenal
Arsenal are considering a January move for highly-rated San Lorenzo winger Angel Correa, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The 18-year-old is valued at £4.5million, and has attracted admiring glances from a number of top European clubs, following a series of scintillating performances in Argentina.
Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan have both been credited with an interest in signing the South American starlet, who scored four goals in 14 appearances in 2012/13.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is weighing up an offer for the talented teenager, as he looks to further strengthen his attacking options at the Emirates Stadium when the transfer window reopens.
The club-record signing of Mesut Ozil has propelled the north London club to the top of the Premier League table this season, and the typically frugal Frenchman wants to add another forward to his ranks in the New Year.
Wenger is currently short on cover for Olivier Giroud at the fulcrum of Arsenal's attack, and knows that an injury to the France international could impact on his side's title aspirations in 2013/14.
Correa's arrival wouldn't necessarily solve that problem, but the Argentine winger - who is renowned for his trickery and dribbling skills - would supplement Arsenal's fearsome forward line should he complete a switch to England at the turn of the year.
