Liverpool look set to miss out on Barcelona defender Martin Montoya as the Spanish champions begin talks to extend his contract at the Nou Camp.
The Reds had been hoping to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield when his contract runs out in the summer, alongside Inter Milan, talkSport report.
However, it seems Barcelona believe the right-back has a big future and want to keep him as a possible rival to Dani Alves in their back four.
According to talkSport, Barcelona are also in talks with Marc Bartra, who came through the Barca academy and has been linked with Crystal Palace in recent months.
The article suggest new deals will be thrashed out during the international break in just under two week’s time.
The Spaniard has made four appearances in La Liga this season as Barcelona kept a clean sheet in all of them with three wins and a goalless draw
