Kagawa is ready to give up on his Manchester United career in order to boost his chances of making Japan's World Cup squad, reports the Sunday People.
The midfield playmaker has so far struggled to convince David Moyes of his first team credentials since the Scotsman took over at Old Trafford in the summer.
Appearing in just three of Manchester United's first 10 Premier League games Kagawa is beginning to fear that if he continues to be left on the sidelines, he risks not being fully fit for the World Cup next summer.
The Japanese international is almost certain to feature in the national squad for the Brazil-based tournament, but a lack of playing time could see Kagawa unable to perform at his best.
Although impressing in the games he has started, the emergence of Adnan Januzaj has moved Kagawa further down the order at Old Trafford.
Borussia Dortmund, who Kagawa left in 2012 to join Manchester United, have been linked with a bid to bring Kagawa back to the Bundesliga whilst Wolfsburg have also declared their interest in the 24-year-old.
Kagawa came on at half time for Manchester United in the 3-1 win against Fulham yesterday, but again failed to get in to the game.
Manchester Untied travel to Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Tuesday and Kagawa may start.
