Tenger quits Akwa Utd

Akwa United head coach, Justin Tenger on Saturday tendered his resignation letter to the management of the side ending his one-season stint at the Uyo-based side.
The former Niger Tornadoes gaffer fought hard to secure the side top flight league football in the 2012/13 Glo Premier League ending the season campaign on the 16th position on 51 points.
The formal resignation has laid to rest days of denial and counter-denial between the management and coach whether or not the coach has been sacked.
Tenger said his one season contract with the Uyo-based side ended on Sunday, October 20 after their last game at Kwara United in Lokoja though with a clause for renewal but opted to end the stint with the side.
“I’ve completely disengaged myself today (Saturday) from Akwa United, the season is over for both parties and it’s done peacefully.
“I signed one season contract with the side which officially ended with our last season game at Kwara United in Lokoja though with a clause for renewal or termination and I opted to quit.
“The reason to quit is personal as I just wanted to stay away from the side right now, I don’t want to continue with them anymore.
“Right now I’m available for any side that need my service, I just have a season to coach before I formally call it quit with coaching.
“I’m feeling satisfied with my stay with the side, we’ve tough time struggling to stay alive most part of the season but at the end of the day the story turned out successful, so I’m leaving the side on high,” said the former Kwara United coach to supersport.com.
Tenger said he is positive of securing another job with another club before the start of the new season to finally disengage from active coaching.
