Paulinho Rejects Real Madrid Rumours
Corinthians are resigned to
losing the midfielder this
summer with club president
Mario Gobbi Filho claiming a
move for Paulinho was
"imminent."
Tottenham have been leading the
chase for Paulinho with
widespread reports suggesting
they have had a bid accepted by
Corinthians for the player after
meeting his €20million (£17m)
buy-out clause.
Recent reports have suggested
Real Madrid are planning to
hijack Tottenham's move as they
look to lure Paulinho to Spain.
However, Paulinho says the only
offer has come from Tottenham
and that he will make a decision
on his future after the
Confederations Cup this
weekend.
"It's not true about Real Madrid,
the only offer that has come is
from Tottenham," Paulinho told
Terra. "But I have already said
that I will only evaluate it after
the Confederations Cup."
Paulinho's Brazil team-mate
David Luiz is a big admirer of the
midfielder and feels he would be
a success in England if he came
to the Premier League.
"Paulinho is a fantastic player,
both defending and attacking,"
Luiz told Goal.
"He is complete, so he can come
to England. It's a great moment
for him."
