Chelsea return to winning ways against Roma

Romelu Lukaku might be giving Jose Mourinho headaches in his task of selecting a leading man in Chelsea’s attack. The Belgian capped his brilliant pre-season performance with another goal in Chelsea’s last pre-season friendly having played just 12 minutes of the game.
Chelsea went behind in the 21st minute through a blunder from new goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer before Frank Lampard who missed most his side’s pre-season games due to an Achilles injury leveled for the Blues in the 61st minute.
Mourinho brought on Lukaku for the final 12 minutes of the game in search of a win and the Belgium repaid his manager’s faith in him by scoring the winner a minute before regular time was up.
The 2-1 win against Roma was Chelsea’s sixth win in seven pre-season games. The only loss came against Mourinho’s former club Real Madrid in the final of the International Champions Cup.
