CONFIRMED: Mahatma Otoo signs for Norwegian side Sogndal
The Ghana Premier League top scorer confirmed via his official Twitter account on Wednesday: ”Tnx be to God just signed with Sogndal ( Norway) my first European club.”
The 20-year-old signed a three-year deal on Wednesday for the Sogn og Fjordane-based side for an undisclosed fee.
Otoo turned to the Norwegian side Tippeligaen after he snubbed Club Brugge after the Belgian Pro League side insisted on him undergoing trials before he could be handed a deal.
Last season’s Ghana Premier League top scorer with 20 goals, agreed personal terms after Hearts and Sogndal reached a deal.
But there is an aspect of his paperwork to be complete to finalize his move.
Sogndal officials are hoping the Ghana international will be cleared before their next league match against Molde on Saturday.
“I am really happy to be in Sogndal and to join the club from now on. I really appreciate the way the club presented itself when they came to Ghana,” Otoo told the club’s website.
“The interaction with Havard & Eric made me feel very welcome and confident in my decision.”
Sogndal are 9th on the Norwegian top-flight table after 18 rounds of matches.
