I have been neglected by Ghana team handlers, says Chibsah

The 29-year-old has been churning out some descent performances for clubs in the Swedish top flight over the years, but has hardly been called up for national team duties
Yussif Chibsah Alhassan has said he feels sidelined by the technical handlers of the various national teams of Ghana.

He captained the Meteors at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens but has rarely featured for the Black Stars with his last international appearance coming in 2009.

“I have been doing my best here, I have been playing week in, week out and I don’t know what else is expected of a player who is always playing actively,” Chibsah told Radio XYZ.

“As far as my career is going on well for me, I am happy. I can’t do much about that and no one can tell me that they don’t monitor me because they sometimes invite players who play in this same competition that I play in so that is obviously not fair and makes me feel that I have been neglected,” he added.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder who now plays for Djurgardens IF in the Swedish top flight has made over 30 appearances for the club since his move from Gefle IF last season.

Chibsah noted: “Maybe, they don’t need my services but as a Ghanaian I am ever ready to play for my country anytime my services are needed.”
