The 57-year-old has added seven players to his squad since the end of last season, including England internationals Darren Bent and Scott Parker.
And Jol insisted Bent will make a big impression at Craven Cottage ahead of their Premier League fixture against Arsene Wenger's men on Saturday.
"Darren Bent will give us that stretch that we needed," the Dutchman explained. "We didn’t have that last season and hopefully he will be good from the start because that is what will help.
"Bryan Ruiz and Dimitar Berbatov are fantastic players, but we lack a bit of pace up front and hopefully we’ve sorted that now.
"Now we’ve got a very good balance hopefully with Darren Bent, if everyone stays fit and sound."
Jol is also delighted to have added experienced midfielder Parker to his squad, and expects the former Tottenham man to lead by example.
"I’m very pleased to sign Scott," he added. "I think he’s the perfect player for most of the managers in the Premier League.
"He’s English, he’s a leader, he can play on the ball, he can play off the ball, and he makes interceptions, so I think it’s fantastic to have him on board."
The ex-Ajax
manager went on to say there is a "big chance" of Parker starting the
Arsenal match, adding he also "expects" Bent to feature.
