Aduana defeat Hasaacas to go joint top
Aduana Stars narrowly pipped newcomers Hasaacas away at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium to go joint top of the Ghana Premier League table ahead of Sunday’s round of fixtures.
The Dormaa-based side grabbed the decisive goal through former King Faisal marksman Kofi Owusu.
The goal is Owusu’s first of the season for his new club, after scoring five times for King Faisal last season.
Coach J.E Sarpong’s Aduana, who opened the season with a 2-1 loss to Kotoko in Sunyani, went on to beat Inter Allies – another newly promoted side – 2-1 at home last week.
Prior to that win last week, Aduana had gone three league games (counting from last season) without a win. They will hope to complete a hatrick of victories when they face their third consecutive newcomer, Bechem FC next week at home.
Their stay at the top is expected to last only 24 hours, as many teams stand a chance of usurping them after Sunday’s seven fixtures are played out.
Here are Sunday’s fixtures.
