Schalke midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has returned to training for the Royal Blues after missing their midweek win over Darmstadt.
Boateng missed the game after feeling pain in his troublesome knee and coach Jens Keller ruled against risking him for the cup tie.
Schalke face a diificult away trio to inform Mochengladbach a week after suffering their heaviest defeat of the season at home to champions Bayern Munich and Boateng’s return will be good news.
Boateng’s chronic knee problems also flared up whilst on international duty with Ghana early in the month in Kumasi.
