Late equaliser spare Medeama more misery
An added time equaliser saved the blushes of Medeama as they shared the spoils with King Faisal after drawing 1-1 in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday in Kumasi.
Any hopes of Medeama correcting their worse start to the season appeared to get difficult at the Baba Yara Stadium when Wilson Andoh scored the opener from the spot after Faisal were awarded a penalty.
But soon after scoring the opener, Andoh was sent off in the 44th minute after picking a red card thus reducing Faisal to ten men.
It was pointing to a nightmare Premier League weekend for the Mauves who were playing against ten-man Faisal but they were saved in added time when Kwame Boahene drew them level.
For Faisal, it will represent a missed opportunity to climb up the log after clinging onto their solitary lead but Medeama will count themselves lucky for leaving Kumasi with at least a point and nothing less.
