Revealed: Coach Fabin demands $1,000 salary in New Edubiase talks
Despite attempts to debunk reports that 2012 MTN FA Cup winners, New Edubiase United have held talks with experienced coach Paa Kwesi Fabin to take over the technical department
of the Bekwai-based club, Footy-Ghana.com can authoritatively reveal that indeed such negotiations have happened with the immediate past Ghana male U-17 coach, the Black Starlets tabling his financial demands to the club.
According to our flawless sources, coach Fabin met and held negotiations with Edubiase’s CEO William Asare at the CETAKEL Hotel located close to the Baba Yara Stadium hours before the Black Stars’ 6-1 drubbing of Egypt last Tuesday.
At the meeting, Fabin was asked to present his demands to the club’s hierarchy where he negotiated a GH¢10,000 ($5,000) sign on fee as well as GH¢2,000 ($1,000) as monthly salary should he take over the reins at Edubiase.
Current head coach Anthony Commey, who helped New Edubiase United win promotion to the top flight a few seasons ago, as well as guiding the club to win the 2012 MTN FA Cup, has come under immense pressure to resign after his side drew 1-1 with Bechem United at home last Sunday. Edubiase had failed to close out the game after taking the lead through midfielder Sekyi Quaye.
The Bekwai-based club currently lies in the relegation places with five points from six games.
