Saturday's Premier League action was exciting to say the least. There were some matches that didn't exactly end the way many expected.
Week 10 action is scheduled to come to a close on Sunday night with Everton and Tottenham fighting for a high spot in the rankings and Cardiff City and Swansea City looking to save their seasons. Everton and Tottenham figures to be an exciting match with potentially major implications on the rest of the season.
There's the possibility that one of the two contests on Sunday ends with shocking results, but it will be hard to top the three shocking matches that concluded on Saturday. I don't think there were many that saw this action coming.

Newcastle defeats Chelsea
Newcastle does rank within the top 10 of the Premier League, but it's always shocking when a team like Chelsea goes down. Newcastle handed Chelsea a 2-0 loss on Saturday for their third loss of the season.
After a scoreless first half of play, Newcastle's Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy scored second-half goals to give their team a lead that wouldn't be challenged.
Gouffran's goal came when he headed in Yohan Cabaye's free kick, and Remy's goal was a result of a great pass from Vurnon Anita.
Chelsea had started the day second in the Premier League rankings, but there's sure to be a switch following Saturday's slate of games. An incredible defensive display by Newcastle limited the opportunities for Chelsea stars like Juan Mata and Eden Hazard. This allowed Newcastle to seemingly dictate the pace of the game.
Newcastle is a team on the rise and should be given credit for their win over Chelsea, but it's not often that you see a team ranked so high in the Premier league go down. It'll be interesting to see how Newcastle builds off this win heading into next week's action against Tottenham.

Manchester City destroys Norwich City

This was hardly even a game. Manchester City absolutely demolished Norwich City by a score of 7-0, further establishing themselves as one of the best clubs in the Premier League.
Man City received goals from Bradley Johnson, David Silva, Matija Nastasic, AlvaroNegredoYaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, and that shows just how much of an all-around effort the match was. It's rare that a score will run so high without a single player scoring multiple goals, but Man City's performance was so strong that they got contributions from seemingly everyone on the pitch.
Norwich City entered the day at No. 18 in the Premier League rankings, so the fact that Man City was able to win is not at all a shocker. That being said, 7-0 is almost unfathomable. Everything was clicking for Man City, and Norwich had absolutely not answer for anything that was thrown at them.
As a result of the loss, don't be surprised if Norwich City manager Chris Hughton gets the axe. He's going to come under intense scrutiny for this latest beatdown, and they haven't had much reason to smile this season anyway.
Losing is nothing new for Norwich this season, but something's gotta give.

Stoke City hangs with Southampton
Stoke City and Southampton's match on Saturday resulted in a 1-1 draw, and shockingly, Southampton was unable to pull off a win against one of the Premier League's weaker teams.
If it's any consolation for them, though, it's that they didn't lose. Southampton has just one loss on the season, making them easily one of the top teams in the rankings. They entered the day at No. 5, and it will be interesting to see if their inability to take down Stoke City will result in a drop.
To be fair, Stoke City's lone goal wasn't exactly conventional. Just 12 seconds into the match, Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic had the ball that he punted catch a gust of wind and bounce once over Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc's head for a goal.
Regardless, the score was still 1-1—no matter how you look at it.
If Southampton wants to climb the ranks in the Premier League, then they'll need to start beating down on lesser opponents. The fact that they tied against Stoke City is shocking, to say the least.
