West Ham will make another attempt to land Demba Ba in the January transfer window after failing to do a deal in the summer.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is desperate to add another striker to his ranks following an injury to Andy Carroll, while Carlton Cole and Mladen Petric have yet to produce the goods. Allardyce revealed that he missed out on three players in the summer and Ba is thought to be one of them. "We tried to get three top loan strikers who play in this country but we failed to get all three," he said. "They went elsewhere and played for another club and one stayed where he was.
"We will have to try again depending how Carlton and Mladen go before the end of January. If they come good and Andy gets back there will be no need for another striker." Jose Mourinho blocked a move from Arsenal on deadline day because he did not want Ba going to a title rival but he may be open to him rejoining West Ham when the window opens.
