Arsene Wenger is tired of Arsenal fans criticizing him of his
inactive behavior in the transfer market and has shown some signs in
this summer’s transfer window.
The Gunners are already fighting hard to bring unsettled Liverpool
striker Luis Suarez to the Emirates having already made £40 000 001 bid
which was believed to be enough to lure the Uruguayan from Anfield.
The Frenchman is still looking to strengthen other parts of his squad
and has made a £17.2 million pounds for Luiz Gustavo according to Sky Sports.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was quoted by Abendzeitung Muenchen as saying:
“Luiz has offers from England, Spain, Russia and Germany. The player has not made a decision yet.”
Luiz Gustavo has himself has admitted he would like to play for
Arsenal. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Brazil’s friendly game
against Switzerland, he said:
“I have heard about Arsenal interest. It’s a big club we’re talking about here so of course I’d like to play for them.
“Arsenal play a very attractive brand of football and are in the
Champions League. They also have a very clever manager in Arsene
Wenger.”
Asene Wenger is however confident of strengthening his squad before the transfer window closes on September 2, 2013. He said:
“We are in the transfer market and we will try to strengthen our
squad. It’s important as well to focus on the squad who are already at
the club and that you focus on the competition , not only the transfer
market.”
