Midfielder,
Jordan Opoku, has rejoined Kumasi Asante Kotoko from Berekum Chelsea
for a whopping GH¢ 60,000 for the upcoming season.
The 29-year-old midfielder’s second stint with the Porcupine
Warriors was made possible following an agreement between the two
parties.
A source told GNA Sports that the midfielder was expected to undergo mandatory medicals with Kotoko before signing the deal.
Opoku was prominent on the recruitment list of Kotoko’s Coach Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani ahead of the 2013/2014 season.
A product of the Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy, Opoku had earlier
had a successful stint with the Porcupine Warriors from 2009 to 2011,
serving as one of the main pillars during Coach Bashir Hayford’s era.
After a brief stint with Albanian side, Dinamo Tirana, Opoku
surprisingly joined Berekum Chelsea after a return to Kotoko failed. At
Chelsea, he proved an anchor of the team’s midfield in their CAF
Champions League in 2012.
Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Stephen Oduro has also been handed a two-year deal with Kotoko.
