Report: Tottenham Hotspur want £93m for Gareth Bale
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly told Real Madrid to stump up £93m if they want to sign Gareth Bale this summer.
Debate has raged in recent weeks over whether Spurs would retain the services of their prized asset, with the Spanish giants thought to have had an £85m bid knocked back by chairman Daniel Levy.
The 24-year-old is said to have recently told his Wales teammates that his six-year spell at White Hart Lane was drawing to a close and, according to Spain newspapers, the Blancos have been quoted upwards of £90m for the star.
The report goes on to claim that the Blancos are keen on offloading defender Fabio Coentrao as a make-weight in the proposed deal, but both clubs are believed to hold differing opinions on the Portugal international's valuation.
The capital club have some 18 days in which to thrash out a deal for Bale - which would be a world record fee - with the transfer window closing on September 2.
