Wakaso considering Zambia match as Ghana's life
Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has revealed the
entire Black Stars team consider their crunch 2014 World Cup against
Zambia as their ‘LIFE’.
The Black Stars will be hosting the Chipolopolo in
the final Group D match on September 6 knowing avoiding defeat will be
just enough to see the team through to the playoff round.
Many players in the Ghana national team are however
determined to hand out a severe beating to their opponents to atone for
recent painful defeats suffered at the hands of Renard Herve’s team.
And with weeks towards the deciding match to be
played in Kumasi, midfielder Mubarak Wakaso says the Black Stars
consider the game as their life – fully aware an unexpected defeat will
see Ghana crash out of the qualifiers.
“For me this match is really motivating,” he said.
“We have been talking about this game which we consider as our life.
“Because when we win we will remain on the path towards World Cup qualification.
“It is a game we are eagerly awaiting and hopefully we will make it.”
Ghana is chasing a third successive appearance at
the World Cup finals following increasing success in Germany and South
Africa in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
The Black Stars currently lead Group D by a point going into the final round of matches at the group stage.
