Kevin-Prince Boateng has been ruled out of Ghana’s squad to play Egypt in Tuesday’s crucial 2014 World Cup playoff in Kumasi.
The Schalke midfielder suffered a knee injury while playing for the German club during a league match on Saturday.
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah was hoping further tests on the left knee problem could clear Boateng to play for Ghana in the match.
But the tests in Germany have revealed that Boateng must undergo treatment for the injury which means he will not be available for the match against Egypt.
No player will be called up to replace Boateng in the squad.
