Romelu Lukaku has vowed to prove he is worth a place in Chelsea's team of superstars.
In an exclusive interview with Sportsmail - to be published in full on Saturday - the giant striker has revealed that Jose Mourinho is closely monitoring his progress at Everton.
The Belgium centre forward is spending this season on loan at Goodison Park after Mourinho decided he wasn't ready to break into Chelsea's line-up.
Man of the moment: Lukaku has been hugely impressive during his loan spell with Everton
LUKAKU THE LOAN STAR
West Brom (2012-13) 38 games 17 goals
Everton (2013-14) 6 games, 5 goals
But Lukaku, 20, insists he will emerge at better player on Merseyside ahead of a planned return to Stamford Bridge after the World Cup.
He told Sportsmail: 'I made the decision to go. I wished them the best of luck after I left. I'm not someone who wishes them the worst just because I am not there.
'They are still my team-mates, you know? But when I watch them on TV, I just watch the game like it is any other. I am not shouting and screaming, biting my nails.
'I have my own worries with my own team. All you want to do on the Saturday afternoon is play. People want to see you on the pitch.

'That was why I left Chelsea. I didn't want to hear people saying, "Hey, he's doing well in training blah blah blah" The game is what counts. The billions who are watching and following the Premier League don't tune in to see you in training. They want to know what you can do in a match.'
Asked whether Mourinho has been in touch since his switch to Everton, Lukaku added: 'What we have said is private but they have been in touch and are following me.
'They are keeping up with my improvement. I know what I am doing well at the moment and what I need to improve. I just want to take all those positives to make myself a better player.'
