Lampard criticism, Omeruo fit and CL opponents admit they 'cannot compete' v Chelsea

Schalke 04
Chelsea are smarting this morning after their painful defeat against Newcastle United at St James Park yesterday.
Goals from Yoann Gouffran and Loic Remy did the damage for the home side, as a lacklustre Chelsea stumbled into a very poor performance.
Mourinho was horrified at the performance, stating:
"I made eleven mistakes, I should of picked the other eleven and not this one. I had one team that was not there. When the team is not there normally you lose. We deserved to lose, maybe they don't deserve to win but for sure we deserved to lose."
One player who came in for significant criticism on Twitter was club legend Frank Lampard. The 35-year-old veteran was plying in holding midfield, and struggled to hold down the possession for 90 minutes.
We took a look at the condemnation on Twitter and you can read about it here…
The only good thing going for Chelsea is their Champions League opponents in midweek. Schalke 04, who actually won away from home in the Bundesliga last night, are decimated by injury and currently in mid-table in the Bundesliga.
It lead the Gelsenkirchen side’s club captain Benedikt Howedes to admit recently that:
”We cannot compete against top teams like Chelsea at the moment.”
So Chelsea will hope to put some of the hurt behind them with victory in Europe this week.
Kenneth Omeruo has returned from injury. The Nigerian, who had an outstanding 2012-13 in Dutch football with ADO Den Haag has been struggling with a shoulder problem. But he featured in the Blues Under-21 match with West Ham yesterday, which ended 3-3.
Finally, and the three Chelsea players at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup will all face each other in the semi-finals of the competition. Ali Suljic and Isak Ssewankambo of Sweden will take on Habib Makanjuola of Nigeria on Tuesday night
