Manuel Pellegrini: 'Rest will help Joe Hart'

Joe Hart of Manchester City sits on the bench during the Barclays Premier League match between Manchester City and Norwich City at Etihad Stadium on November 2, 2013
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that resting Joe Hart will help the England international rediscover his form.

The 26-year-old was relegated to the substitutes bench for today's 7-0 triumph over Norwich City, with Costel Pantilimon taking his place between the sticks.

Speaking after his side's comprehensive victory, Pellegrini believes that Hart will come back stronger after being dropped.

"My duty is to see every week who is the best player to play," Pellegrini told the club's official website. "Joe needed a rest, it will be useful for him.

"He's played every match for two years. Every player can have a bad moment. I only know that Joe must work very hard and he will have all of the support of me and the goalkeeper coach and the team. He is England's goalkeeper and I think he will be back.

"I am sure he will return to his normal performance."

The win has lifted Manchester City up to fourth place in the Premier League table
