Sekondi Hasaacas’ Togolese defender Renard Amouzou has revealed he has a Ghanaian parentage and is ready to apply for a Ghanaian passport to enable him play for Ghana.
The 21-year-old’s performance in the Ghanaian Premier League has received raving reviews with Ghana CHAN squad coach Maxwell Konadu watching him twice and drafting him into his plans.
But the versatile defender who can alternate between central and lateral defence holds a Togolese passport and was dropped from the squad after the revelation.
However, the talented defender is ready to get a Ghanaian passport to enable him play for Ghana.
“My manager is working to get a Ghanaian passport for me because I want to play for Ghana. My mother is a Ghanaian,” he told Asempa.
Ghana FA Technical Director Oti Akenteng has admitted the defender’s quality after watching him play for Hasaacas in the Ghana Premier League and said he recommended him to Maxwell Konadu.
