Accra Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan has named four players on top
of his shopping list as the Phobians scout the transfer market in
preparation for next season’s Premier League.
The quartet includes Asiedu Attobrah of New Edubiase United,
Aduana Stars captain and right-back Godfred Saka, goalkeeper Foli Adade
of Ebusua Dwarfs and Okwawu United marksman, Ezekiel Tetteh.
A
Hearts source disclosed to GNA Sports that Coach Duncan has tasked the
Hearts management to land the players since their inclusion will be
critical to the club’s ambitions of annexing the Premier League and the
FA Cup next season.
Coach Duncan is said be an admirer of the
players and believes they will add quality to his squad which has been
depleted by the departure of top striker Mahatma Otoo who has joined a
Norwegian club, Sogndal.
According to the source, the Hearts
Board headed by Togbe Afede XIV, has initiated negotiations with the
targeted players’ clubs towards securing their services.
The
quartet will cost the Phobians a fortune, but the Board appears
committed to their acquisition to aid their ambitions for the next
season.
Apart from Tetteh, who has no experience in the elite
division, the three others are highly rated in their respective
positions on the local scene.
Attobrah has been New Edubiase
United’s playmaker for the past two seasons while Saka is arguably the
most consistent right-back on the domestic front.
Adade is one
of the most sought after goalies on the domestic scene, while Tetteh
scored a couple of decisive goals for the Soccer Mountaineers in their
abortive campaign for a return to the elite division last season.
