TOTTENHAM and Liverpool target Leandro Damiao
remains interested in a move to the Premier League but says he is happy
to stay at Brazilian club Internacional for the time being.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also interested and the 24-year-old feels any move would have to be right for himself and Internacional for it to happen.
He said: "The first time I was sounded out, I was happy, but I have to overcome that now, I am focused on Internacional, it has to be a good offer for me and the club.
"A lot was said. I am calm, nothing has come and I am still focused on Internacional and in the Brazilian Cup.“If a very good offer comes, then maybe it could happen”Leandro Damiao
"If a very good offer comes, then maybe it could happen."
Rodgers has been trying to secure the signature of Damiao's international team-mate Willian from Russian club Anzhi, but it appears he may have been pipped to his signature by Tottenham.
The Brazilian playmaker is set to open talks with Spurs over a move to White Hart Lane for a club record £30m fee.
He said: "There have been no contacts in the last 15 days, not even speculation.
"Many times an agent comes and tries to make conversation between the clubs but we haven't even had that.
"Everything indicates that Leandro Damiao will stay."
