Albert Commey takes up Aduana Stars job as CEO

Immediate past Vice President of Medeama SC, Albert Commey Aryeetey has landed a new job as the Chief Executive Officer of Dormaa-based Aduana Stars FC, footy-Ghana.com can confirm.
It will be recalled that Commey Aryeetey tendered in a ‘surprise’ resignation at Medeama early last month citing personal reasons. The former Hearts of Oak spokesperson thus replaces outspoken Kofi Manu who is said to be venturing into politics.
“Starting this November, I will start work as new CEO of Aduana Stars. I had initially quit club football to venture into private business other than football administration,” Albert Commey confirmed.
He further explains how he couldn’t say no when top officials of the 2009 /10 Ghana Premier League champions approached him for the job.
“When this offer came, I looked at relationship and consulted experienced guys especially Ashford Tetteh-Oku who advised it was premature for me to leave football. Coupled with the relationship I have with the owner of Aduana and the likes of Mr. Gyawu, I couldn’t turn down the offer,” he explained.
It is unclear the length of Commey Aryeetey’s appointment but footy-Ghana understands the Executive Council member of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) will be present at Aduana’s Ghana Premier League match-day 10 home fixture against Tema-based Amidaus Professionals on Sunday.
“It is likely by tomorrow [Saturday], I will be in Dormaa and from there we will see how to go about our work. What I need is co-operation and with that we can achieve whatever we plan for,” Commey Aryeetey added.
