Strictly Come Dancing star Susanna Reid has been given a fitness boost this week – all thanks to Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.
The TV presenter has been struggling with an unknown pain in her rib cage that had put her precipitation in the show in doubt.
The pain has been so bad that she’s been struggling to walk – let alone dance with partner Kevin Clifton, and physios and doctors on the show have been baffled to its cause.
However, thanks to former England hitman Crouch, the problem has been cleared up.
Crouch put Reid in touch with one his personal phyios, who also works for Leicester City, after a chat with his wife and fellow contestant Abbey Clancy.
In a perfect stroke of the luck, Dave Rennie, the man in question, was staying at the same hotel as Reid, and was able to help out using a few simple techniques.
‘It was really painful after the rehearsal yesterday and I was really quite concerned. I felt very stiff, it was hard to walk and hard to breathe.
‘But seeing the physio made a tremendous amount of difference and I can’t thank him enough.
‘To have one of the top physios in the country staying in the same hotel when I needed it most makes me feel it really was meant to be.’
